car sharing
Car-sharing spaces are parking spaces where shared cars using a back-to-one system can be rented and returned. A back-to-one system means that the shared car must always be returned to the place where it was picked up. Another location is not possible, not even another car-sharing parking space. You may of course park the car at your destination, but on the return trip you must bring it back to its original location. Until then, the shared car remains rented by you. Cambio shared cars are an example of this.
bike sharing
Station-based shared bikes are bikes that can only be rented and returned at a dedicated station. You cannot leave them in a drop zone or elsewhere. You do not always have to return the bike to the same station: you can rent and return these bikes at any station. In Brussels, Villo shared bikes work according to this system.
